Youth Conservation Program

Do you know anyone between the ages of 17-25 years old with an interest in wildlife?  Young adults with a passion for conservation will be excited to learn of Imvelo Safari Lodges' special conservation course. In its second season, this short course focuses on community-based tourism and conservation.  There will be two 8-day courses in 2022: May 19-27 and June 23 to July 1

Based at Camelthorn Lodge in Hwange National Park, the largest and most diverse park in Zimbabwe, young adults will experience one of the largest community-based conservation partnerships in the country. Each course will be led by senior management and licensed local guides who will act as group leaders.  Daily activities include everything from spending time with the Cobras Community Wildlife Protection Unit to an introduction to guiding from Imvelo's star team (some of Zimbabwe’s best), learn about Africa's plants, animals, and conservation practices while in the bush, gain an introduction to wildlife management, research, and human-wildlife conflict.
