The Great East Africa Safari

A 12 Day Safari Across Kenya & Tanzania

This is the perfect introduction to East Africa, the birthplace of the safari.  On this 12-day journey across both Kenya and Tanzania, you’ll explore the legendary landscapes and iconic national parks as you witness some of the greatest wildlife viewing on earth.

Your safari begins in Kenya’s capital city of Nairobi before heading south to Amboseli National Park.  Amboseli is famous for large herds of elephant and dramatic vistas of Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain.  From Amboseli, you'll cross over into Tanzania where you'll explore the world's largest caldera - Ngorongoro Crater.  The floor of the crater is full of wildlife including rare black rhinos.  Continue down the volcanic highlands to the vast plains of the Serengeti.  The Serengeti is home to the world's largest mammal migration and you may witness millions of wildebeest and zebra crossing the plains in search of fresh grass.

From the Serengeti, you'll fly back to Kenya for a few days in the Maasai Mara Reserve.  The reserve is quite likely the most productive game viewing area in all of Africa, this is a superb location for serious game viewing and photography. The area is unrivaled for sightings of big cats, has a great variety and quantity of species, and features dynamic scenery on a grand scale.  The great migration moves from the Serengeti to the Mara so you may have the opportunity to witness a river crossing as the wildebeest fight currents and crocodiles as they swim across the rivers.
